Jennifer Lee Snowden comes from the small town of Spring Lake, Michigan. Her mother and grandmother were both music teachers and surrounded her with music since the day she was born. “I have had a passion for music for as long as I can remember,” she says. “Since I was in the first grade I was singing in the talent show every year and then later began taking voice lessons and performing in church, musicals, weddings and a touring gospel choir. There was nothing I loved more than being on stage.” One of the prerequisites for living in the Snowden household was taking piano lessons. “I'm so thankful that my mom insisted that I learn piano,” she admits, “It taught me to read and understand music and is my tool for writing songs.”

After high school Jennifer attended Northwestern University's theater program, but still continued to take voice lessons and study music. During her sophomore year of college a close friend from high school lost her brother to suicide. “I felt the loss very deeply and was unsure of how to express my sadness, so one day I just sat down at the piano and wrote a song about it. It was the first song that I have ever written and the lyrics poured out of me. It is called “Eternal Wire” and is extremely close to my heart because it sparked my love for songwriting, and will always remind me of my beautiful friend, her amazingly strong family, and a precious life that was so tragically lost.” Jennifer recalls being amazed at how many people were touched by her songs. It drove her to continue writing and pursue a career as a singer and songwriter.

Jennifer's music has brought her all over the world. She has sung throughout the New York City area, Michigan, Fiji, and Australia. While singing at the Sofitel Resort in Fiji, Jennifer met a producer who helped to get her music off the ground. She is currently recording her first album in Sydney and hopes to have a record deal in the near future. “I have loved every moment of my musical journey. It is so fulfilling to be able to share your heart, your hopes, and your fears and to relate to others in the process.”
